چکیده

This paper deals with electrogasdynamical processes in the lower layers of atmosphere. We propose a mathematical model of the ionic flow formed by the ground-based emitter system and study its solutions. The investigation consists in numerical solving of the Navier-Stokes system for the compressible flow coupled with the Nernst-Planck-Poisson equations with respect to the ion concentration and the electric potential. We analyze the final distribution of ions in the gap between the ground surface and the lower cloud boundary. It is shown that considerable amount of ions can reach the height of 2 km only with the ascending air flow. Some temperature effects are described.

Determination of Spatial-Temporal Correlation Structure of Troposphere Ozone Data in Tehran City

Spatial-temporal modeling of air pollutants, ground-level ozone concentrations in particular, has attracted recent attention because by using spatial-temporal modeling, can analyze, interpolate or predict ozone levels at any location. In this paper we consider daily averages of troposphere ozone over Tehran city. For eliminating the trend of data, a dynamic linear model is used, then some featu...

Effects of ionic parameters on behavior of a skeletal muscle fiber model

All living cells have a membrane which separates inside the cell from it's outside. There is a potential difference between inside and outside of the cell. This potential difference will change during an action potential. It is quite common to peruse action potentials of skeletal muscle fibers with the Hodgkin-Huxley model. Since Hodgkin and Huxley summarized some controlling currents like inwa...

Mathematical Modeling of Potential Flow over a Rotating Cylinder (RESEARCH NOTE)

Potential flow over rotating cylinder is usually solved by the singularity method. However,in this paper a mathematical solution is presented for this problem by direct solution of the Laplace’sequation. Flow over the cylinder was considered non-viscous. Neumann and Dirichlet boundaryconditions were used on the solid surfaces and in the infinity, respectively. Because of non-viscous flow, the La...

Modeling electrokinetic flows in microchannels using coupled lattice Boltzmann methods

We present a numerical framework to solve the dynamic model for electrokinetic flows in microchannels using coupled lattice Boltzmann methods. The governing equation for each transport process is solved by a lattice Boltzmann model and the entire process is simulated through an iteration procedure. After validation, the present method is used to study the applicability of the Poisson–Boltzmann ...

Numerical Simulation of Separation Bubble on Elliptic Cylinders Using Three-equation k-? Turbulence Model

Occurrence of laminar separation bubbles on solid walls of an elliptic cylinder has been simulated using a recently developed transitional model for boundary layer flows. Computational method is based on the solution of the Reynolds averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) equations and the eddy-viscosity concept. Transitional model tries to simulate streamwise fluctuations, induced by freestream turbulen...
